Obviously Ms McAvan's clever plan to schedule the European Parliament plenum's vote concerning the TPD2 on September 10, 2013 is still in place. In July we sent a letter to all MEPs (see here) and today we sent the a reminder at the end of the summer brek and just before the voting.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
we apologize for being a nuisance, but this matter is too important for the health of millions of European citizens to allow free play. To make sure that our e-mail from 6 weeks ago was not swallowed by the beginning summer break we re-inserted it subsequently.
There is one detail we would like to add: a UK e-cigarette vendor asked the MHRA (Medicine and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) about the cost of the “marketing authorization for his range of products when the regulation is in effect. The result was that he would need about 900 approvals at cost of 1.8 Billion Pounds, more than 2 Billion (not Million – Billion!) Euros.
This shows clearly how absurd the regulation planned by the Commission and by ENVI really is. The only ones who will profit are the big Pharma and maybe Tobacco companies. No one else will be able to afford such approvals.
We, the vapers, are not ill: the e-cigarette is an alternative, not a medicine, vaping will not be safer as pharmaceutical product, and vaping will not save lives if crippled.
We are still looking for Common Sense. Please do not disappoint us, the citizens.
This open letter will be published on our website and other places.
